Deke Grussendorf Volunteer of the Year Award:

The Deke Grussendorf Volunteer of the Year is a person that has gone beyond the call of duty for the Hermantown community within the last year. They have shown exceptional dedication to the community and have helped the community or others in our community become more successful.

The Volunteer of the Year award was named in honor of longtime Hermantown resident, business owner and active community member, Deke Grussendorf, Founder of Grussendorf Nursery & Landscaping, who created a legacy of serving the community. Prior to serving as Hermantown Mayor, Dan Urshan developed the Deke Grussendorf Volunteer of the Year award in 1994. The Hermantown Area Chamber of Commerce has sponsored the award since it’s inception.

The adult volunteer named will be honored each year at Summer Fest.
